In Focus #8 – Showcase of a Digital Artist
This week, In Focus is showcasing the outstanding talent of *Cynnalia, aka Deborah Grieves.

Deborah lives in Southern Oregon and works as a graphic designer for a helicopter company.
In her spare time she paints – but she spends a good deal of her time these days working in Photoshop creating outstanding photo manipulations and some digital art pieces.
The digital tools she uses are Photoshop CS5 and an Intuos3 tablet. She also uses Corel Painter X for her digital paintings.
Photo manipulation is a very new art form for Deborah, producing her first artwork in March 2010.
As you will see, Deborah has a deep love of fantasy and faeries. Influenced since childhood through such books as Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia. She has been greatly encouraged in her art and literature by both her artistic mother and her father who is an English teacher.
Life hasn’t been all plain sailing for Deborah, and we start this showcase with a very personal piece by Cynnalia – here is an excerpt from her write-up on the piece (click on either the quote or the following image to read more):
